Rojika Lama, a shining star we’ve had the privilege of supporting for 12 years, is on her way to university in Japan! ???
Born in 2002, Rojika faced considerable hardships in her early years. Without proper family care, she lived with a foster family that struggled financially and even had to work in a stone quarry at the tender age of 9.
Through sheer determination, Rojika turned her life around when she joined Ichangu school, thanks to MAYAA Nepal. Despite numerous challenges, including the loss of her adopted father, Rojika shone brightly in her studies, showing us all that hard work and perseverance can truly change your life’s path.
Fast forward to today, Rojika is not only a graduate but also an inspiring daycare teacher with MAYAA, whilst simultaneously pursuing a Bachelor in Business Administration in Kathmandu.
The most fantastic news? Rojika has been accepted into the prestigious Osaka Tourism and Business Japanese School! Her journey to Japan will open up new vistas for her to explore economics, her area of interest.
As we bid farewell to Rojika at the Mayaa Centre, we couldn’t be prouder. Her story serves as an inspiring testament to the power of education and the difference it can make in a young person’s life.
This wouldn’t be possible without your support! Thank you for helping us change lives, one child at a time.
